10 Years With Google AdSense: Which Was Your Best Year?

 

Google AdSense is ten years old today and Google wants everyone to know about it - as they should. AdSense has given Google a way to bring in a nice and sizable secondary source of income, outside of basic search ads. They are now the largest in the display ad business because of it and their acquisition of DoubleClick.

More importantly, AdSense has created industries that never once existed, including algorithms (Panda) that never existed. AdSense has helped families buy homes, pay for tuition, and pay off debt but it has also led to the collapse of those same families, put people into debt and caused many issues. Again, terminations, Panda, abuse, etc.

That being said, AdSense has made an impact on us all. Either directly as publishers or advertisers or indirectly as webmasters or SEOs who have built sites or had algorithms impact our sites in response to the AdSense community.

It has been a crazy ten years with Google on both the paid and organic side.
